Our Challenge
They came to play.
The Custom-Pak team developed a blowmold basketball hoop for kids aged 5-12, which was pretty innovative all by itself. Then, they partnered with colleges and universities across the nation to put official NCAA school logos on the hoops. Game changer! We just needed to name it, package it, and launch it.
Our Solution
Just like we drew it up.
We developed a light-hearted, unique name—HUPLAY— by combining the words “hoop” and “play” to keep the focus on the product and the game. Then, we created a sincere and strong visual and voice for the brand that positioned HUPLAY a step above the “toy” hoops in the category. From naming the product line and developing a logo to designing packaging and building an Amazon storefront, our game was on point.
Brand elements

The name needed a solid and energetic logo. We delivered. Simple, sturdy, and dimensional, the HUPLAY logo stands out on the shelf and online. The brand color palette and fonts are dynamic and bold, just like the little ballers who are about to bring their A-game.

Photography
We shoot. We score.
To show how HUPLAY hoops were not your typical toy hoops, we recruited top-tier basketball talent for a photoshoot. Action shots, product shots, and portraits were captured that conveyed the spirit of the players and the seriousness of their game.

Tradeshow
Away games.
HUPLAY hit the tradeshow circuit to showcase their skillz, displaying banners, backdrops, collateral, and more. Banners were designed to feature prominent schools with connections to the show location to call out fans and alumni.

Packaging
Box ‘em out.
Colorful and informative, the packaging was thoughtfully designed to protect the product and stand out on store shelves and in-store displays. We capitalized on college and university color palettes (depending on the region) so the packaging would speak directly to the schools’ audiences. Winning.
