Encouraging employee-owners to own their company’s future.
An illuminating opportunity.
Our Challenge
Finding that spark.
Let’s be honest, not many children have dreams of someday working at an electrical distributor when they grow up. So, recruiting skilled talent has always been a challenge for Van Meter. As they grew, it became more of a challenge. And boy, were they growing.
Our Solution
Powerful insight.
Becoming an employee-owner at Van Meter makes all the difference—both for employees and the company. Knowing that every individual is empowered to make the company better, well, truly makes the company better. And it makes every individual strive to be their best, too. From environmental signage to technical ESOP brochures, our campaign made a powerful impact quickly.
Branding
A bright idea.
The recruiting theme “Own up” puts potential employees (and current employee-owners) in control of their future by giving them ownership in the company they work for. The typography, color palette, and photography convey the feeling of joy employee-owners feel when they own their success.
MINI BROCHURE
An unusual benefits brochure
The “Own Up” initiative was broad and included a mini brochure for use at job fairs or as leave-behind pieces at interviews. This attention-grabbing foldout featured real employee-owners sharing their unique perspective on Van Meter’s culture.
ADS
Now Hiring
Employee-owners at Van Meter truly feel ownership in the company—and it shows in their faces. These recruitment ads took a light-hearted approach to job hunting and featured custom photography shot by Red Dot.
ESOP BROCHURE
Heavy lifting collateral
Explaining the benefits of an employee stock ownership plan can be complicated. But it’s important for employee-owners to understand its immense value. This well-crafted brochure shines a light on the tiny details. And it looks good doing it.
PHOTOGRAPHY
Photography powered by people.
Because employee-owners are at the heart of Van Meter, they were also at the heart of this campaign. Red Dot shot dozens of photos of team members capturing unexpected and joyful reactions to be used in ads, on posters, and more. Their smiles came naturally.
