March 28, 2017

On the heels of a strong showing at the local 2013 ADDYs Awards, hosted by the American Advertising Federation of Des Moines, Red Dot Advertising & Design received another round of accolades, earning three Silver ADDY awards at the District 9 competition.

Red Dot entries were judged among 485 professional entries from Iowa, Kansas, Missouri and Nebraska, with 37 Gold ADDY and 60 Silver ADDY Awards given. Red Dot winning submissions included:

Winefest — “Commemorative 10-Year Anniversary Poster,” Illustration category

Winefest — “Commemorative 10-Year Anniversary Poster,” Poster category

Apache, Inc. — “Corporate Brochure,” Brochure category

The ADDY Awards is the advertising industry’s largest and most representative competition, attracting more than 50,000 entries every year in local ADDY competitions. Only work that has won at the 14 local competitions can be submitted to the District competition. District winners are then eligible to compete in the National ADDY Awards competition.

“Hats off to a great collaborative effort between our client partners and the Red Dot team,” said Todd Schatzberg, Principal of Red Dot. “Although we never create anything in the hope that it wins an award, we’re always pleased when they win, because it validates the working relationship we have with our client partners and the exceptional team we’ve assembled here at Red Dot.”

The 2013 District ADDY competition judging panel included: Frank Stegmaier, associate creative director for Campbell Mithun | McCann Worldgroup, Minneapolis, MN; Ron Kohudic, UX Strategy and Design, Siren Interactive, Chicago, IL and Hilary Haselton, senior copywriter, Chicago, IL.

The mission of the ADDY competition is to recognize and reward creative excellence in the art of advertising. Competition entries are judged based on creativity, originality and creative strategy.

In addition to the three District 9 Silver awards, Red Dot won three Gold and three Silver ADDYs at the local competition, including Judges’ Choice awards in the Poster category for Winefest’s Commemorative 10-Year Anniversary Poster.
